Principal's Message
“While educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their heart.” With these scintillating words of Dalai Lama ,I am delighted to welcome you all- our new aspiring students as well as our in house students to Government Degree College Samba. I hope to convey the passion and enthusiasm that both staff and students bring to you, and all that they do here, making this institute a wonderful place to learn. GDC Samba , rechristened as Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, Govt. Degree College Samba after the legendary dogra leader Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, started its journey in 2005 with the aim of providing education to students of Samba district coming from rural areas and empowering them so that they can be financially independent, socially conscious, morally upright and emotionally balanced.
Nestled in the serene Shivalik foothills alongside the national highway, on the banks of Basantar river, the college has grown in the preceding years and is marching ahead towards progression and productivity. We happily bring together a sound academic environment with an extensive, vibrant co-curricular programme that includes sports, cultural extension and leadership training programmes. GDC Samba is a Symbiosis of competent and dedicated teachers, an experienced and efficient Management, offering a bustling campus life to our students.
The successful implementation of NEP-2020 guidelines is a hallmark achievement for our department of higher education, J&K UT. Rooted in the Indian ethos, this policy has overhauled the country’s education system with impetus on holistic , inclusive and multidisciplinary education which offers multiple exit options and aims at making India a repository of global knowledge superpower. I ardently believe, an institution is remembered by one who walks out of it.’
Here so, we as an institution, envision to empower our youth towards becoming conscientious and confident human beings through value based and integral education who will certainly go out as responsible citizens with human values. We are genuinely concerned to ensure students’ emotional growth along with intellectual excellence amidst mentoring our young learners to imbibe the gospels of discipline, determination and devotion paramount for a harmonious civilization.
